Green Living

My Valentines day this year included a stroll through the Hillcrest Farmers Market with a GreenFix “Original” smoothie in hand. After a delicious but heavy brunch, fresh greens were just what the doctor ordered to balance out the day.

Enjoying my GreenFix inspired me to try making my own green smoothies to pack with me during the work week. I started with a base of kale, chard and collared greens and added little sweetness and a tropical twist with the addition of kiwis, green apples, and pineapple juice (delicious and chalked full of good for you Bromelain). Blended all together with a few handfuls of ice, I ended up with a gorgeous jar of yummy greens to enjoy this week.

Sweet & Tangy Green Smoothie Recipe

4 Kiwis (peeled)
3 Green Apples (core removed, skin-on)
4 Large Collard Green Leaves
1 Bunch Organic Kale
1 Bunch Organic Chard
3 Cups 100% Pineapple Juice
1 Cup Ice

Blend greens, apples, kiwis, and juice until smooth. Add ice and continue blending until smoothie has reached your desired consistency (ice helps break down greens into smaller pieces by providing additional texture during blending).
